We accept credit cards ONLY thru PAYPAL. It has proven to be very safe and secure. A personal check is welcome. In fact, a personal check is our preferred method of payment. It is a fact of life that the 4% fees for credit card use are applied to the merchandise AND to the shipping charges. We have to consider that if credit cards are used.
SCHEDULING & DEPOSIT
We sometimes have finished pieces in stock for immediate sale/shipment. Also, we may have an assembled piece, that has not been finished, ready to stain and finish to your specifications. Most often, we will have the parts to a piece cut out and stored away ready to assemble and finish. This is the best way for us to proceed. It will help to shorten the lead time and we will be able to allow a broader color choice.
Unless there is a finished piece in stock, the minimum lead time will probably be 12 weeks plus shipping time. To be honest, most of our lead times tend to be twelve to sixteen weeks plus shipping. We will discuss the lead times at the time of ordering.
We require a $50. Nonrefundable scheduling deposit on an order of any size at the time the order is placed. We will then notify you when we begin on your furniture and will require a 30% deposit at that time. The balance is due on completion, prior to shipping.
This is fair to all parties. The nonrefundable $50 is to cover the paperwork, correspondence, and time spent on scheduling an order. It is not an excessive loss if one should change their mind or be forced to cancel. We do not want to hold your money, in the form of a 50% deposit, for any longer than is fair. That deposit is only equitable when we begin work on your furniture.
COLORS / COLOR SAMPLES
I can get a good rendition of the colors that we offer using our graphics software, scanner, and monitor. And we can adjust them on the web to look perfect on OUR computer/monitor. The difference in browsers and monitors almost certainly guarantees that what you see is different from what we see.
If you are a "graphics/photography/media" savvy person, then you are familiar with the Macbeth color checker. We can coordinate a color match if you have an actual Macbeth Color Checker. A copy of one is included here, but alas, there is no way to tell if it is being displayed accurately on your monitor.
ANOTHER TRICK IS TO USE A BOX OF 8 CRAYOLA CRAYONS. WE HAVE INCLUDED A PICTURE OF AN OPEN BOX ON THE COLOR CHECKER PAGE. THEY ARE BALANCED TO BE COLOR CORRECT ON OUR SYSTEMS. IF THEY ARE CLOSE ON YOURS, YOU PROBABLY ARE LOOKING AT A CLOSE MATCH !!!
WE SEND OUT ACTUAL COLOR CHIPS WHEN WE RECEIVE A DEPOSIT. PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM ENCLOSED WITH THEM, AND RETURN THE FORM AND COLOR SAMPLES TO US VIA THE PRIORITY MAILER THEY CAME IN.
We do mostly custom work in the course of a year. It is done with the understanding that the lead time is usually greater than normal. A reference picture either mailed or e-mailed to us will help at the beginning.
We can design personalized furniture better than anyone that we know of. We can work with an architect or designer in the preliminary phases with drawings or computer generated CAD drawings/plans. We charge $65./ hr for design and graphics work.
Where possible, we will try to use FedEx Ground & UPS to ship smaller pieces. Over a certain size and weight, we must use a common carrier. Our preference is ROADWAY. They serve the entire USA. We have a substantial freight rate discount with ROADWAY.
All freight charges are either prepaid or collect at the time of delivery. We have included the CRATING cost in the price of the furniture. In some unusual circumstances, we may have to charge a nominal CRATING charge.
You will be sent information concerning shipping at the time of ordering.
SINCE WE WROTE THAT, THE COST OF FUEL AND SHIPPING HAVE SKYROCKETED. THE BEST WE CAN SAY IS THAT WE DO ALL THAT WE CAN TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF SHIPPING, AND KEEP THE COST AS LOW AS POSSIBLE.
