This example of our Mackintosh Keyhole bed
is designed to use without a foundation or box spring.
The mattress or futon rests on a system of wooden slats connected with cotton webbing.
Most of our beds sent to Europe are this style. It has been our personal favorite for years.

This particular bed was a real beauty.

We can make this bed in any size.
It can be adjusted to the customers preference
in height of the top of the mattress from the ground.

The slats are held tight by blocks at the ends of the side rails.
There is the slightest amount of flex in the slat system
that allows for a more "organic" feel to the bedding.
