This bed was a commission from an Interior Designer.
When two large sliding doors were opened in the bedroom,
the bed was visible from several other rooms.
It needed to be dramatic and commanding, without sacrificing the Arts & Crafts esthetic.

The bed combines massive elements with open spaces.
The graceful central gallery is flanked by hand cut raised panel and frames.
Both are contained by strong horizontal elements.

Love it or hate it....
a balance was achieved that combined graceful harmony and strength.
It was huge, and difficult to photograph with any finesse.
We had to use our biggest storage room and stand in a doorway,
as far away as we could get. The headboard is nearly 6.5 feet tall.
